Activities Director:

Activities Director Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, and oversee engaging individual and group activities that support residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being. Organize special events, outings, and celebrations based on resident interests and preferences. Assess resident needs and create individualized activity plans in collaboration with nursing, therapy, and social services teams. Supervise, train, and support activity aides and volunteers to ensure safe and meaningful programming. Maintain activity calendars, participation records, and required documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulations. Foster positive relationships with residents and families while managing activity supplies and budget.

Activities Director Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certification as an Activity Director (Required). Previous experience working as an Activities Director or in a similar role in a long-term care or healthcare setting is Required. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Creativity, patience, and a passion for working with seniors. Ability to engage and motivate residents with diverse needs and backgrounds. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
