An Activities Director oversees the therapeutic and recreational activities for geriatric groups. They may work in a retirement home, nursing home, senior center or healthcare setting.
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and dedicated Activities Director to lead and oversee our Recreation/Activities Department. This role is responsible for developing and coordinating meaningful activities that promote the physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of our residents . The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors in a healthcare or long-term care setting and a genuine passion for creating engaging programs that encourage socialization, independence, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate engaging activity programs based on residents' individual interests, abilities, and needs. Direct the day-to-day operations of the Recreation/Activities Department in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and maintain department policies and procedures in collaboration with facility leadership. Work closely with nursing and other interdisciplinary team members to support residents' overall well-being. Coordinate individual and group activities that encourage social interaction, cognitive stimulation, creativity, and physical engagement. Assist with evaluating activity-related functions and identifying tasks that may involve potential exposure to blood or bodily fluids in accordance with infection control practices. Maintain appropriate documentation and records related to resident activities and participation. Ensure the department operates in compliance with facility policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Compensation:
$50000-$52000 annuallly

Qualifications :
ADC (Activity Director Certification) required At least 2 years of full-time experience in a patient activities program within a healthcare setting . Must meet applicable state requirements for qualification, including completion of an approved training course,. Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or long-term care setting is strongly preferred.
