The Director will execute existing Cultural programs and classes, create ideas for new programs and improve upon existing programming. Overall duties will include developing & implementing events such as Book Fest & Author Events, Performing Arts and Bagels & Jazz series, Film series, Community events such as the annual Hanukkah celebration, classes and special events by tracking reservations, payments, maintaining participant lists and other duties as assigned. This will include, but is not limited to, preparing the facility set-up diagrams for departmental programs & special events. with ongoing development in the department. Specific areas of responsibility are included below. This position is 40 hrs/week and reports to the JCC CEO.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Passion for creative community programming incorporating all the arts: visual and performing - from booking talent and producing events, coordinating art exhibits, to offering classes Develops and implements all the programs offered by the ACE Department including but not limited to annual book fest, Bagel & Jazz, youth and adult art /educational classes, community lectures, etc Enter all programs in DAXKO database and Square (when needed); take/track registrations, accept/process payments Develop Fiscal Year budget and be accountable for achieving planned revenues and expenses Submit check requests; manage/track credit card expenditures Cultivate relationships with individual donors, solicit contributions, track fundraising dollars, write thank you letters Prepare information and strategize with Marketing department in a timely manner, including verbiage and photos to promote events Craft with Marketing Director weekly 'E-blast' to ACE 1000+ list-serve Keep flyers and posters up to date and stock them at distribution points Submit room set-ups to the Facility coordinator in a timely manner Manage day of events and programs at the check-in table, payments and host same as 'emcee' Collaborate with other department heads such as Development Chief, JCP Director, Marketing Director Provide informational materials and displays for Jewish holidays Represent the JCC at various community events Maintain memberships and involvement with Jewish Book Council, Jewish Film Producers Network, JCCA Arts & Culture Cohort, NM Jewish Community Leaders, among others Other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience & Qualifications (not limited to): Innovative and creative-minded; uses initiative and is resourceful Demonstration of strong organizational skills with attention to detail Familiarity with Jewish culture and traditions Passionate and knowledgeable about literary, visual, performing arts and cultural programs Personable, friendly, patient, courteous, attentive Proficient, comfortable with public speaking and appearances; strong written skills Work effectively as a team player; develop professional, constructive working relationships with JCC members and Staff Flexible schedule (i.e. willing to work occasional evenings or Sundays) Knowledge of Albuquerque community, Jewish community, and community resources Skilled in

Bachelor's degree plus five years' minimum experience in related field required. Ability to establish work priorities and organize tasks so that all work is done efficiently and on time with minimal supervision; exceptional oral and written communication skills; commitment to excellence through customer service; attitude that strives to meet and exceed JCC and departmental goals and objectives. A personal and professional commitment to support the JCC mission is required. Creative, flexible and able to multi-task. Working knowledge of the coordination of events.
