Work Setting:
In person Broadway Rise is a boutique performing arts program on Manhattan's Upper West Side offering acting, musical theatre, and vocal training for children, teens, and adults. We are committed to creating a warm, professional, and inspiring environment where students and families feel welcomed, supported, and connected. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and organized Program & Content Assistant to support our programs during the Fall 2026 season. This person will be one of the first faces families see when they arrive. The primary responsibility is to create a friendly, welcoming, and professional experience for students and parents while also assisting teachers, maintaining organized program spaces, completing light administrative tasks, and capturing authentic photos and videos of Broadway Rise activities. This is an active, people-focused position for someone who genuinely enjoys working around children, teens, families, and teaching artists. The ideal candidate notices what needs attention, takes initiative, and helps the program run smoothly without needing constant direction. Key Responsibilities Warmly greet students and families as they arrive Learn student and family names and help new families navigate the space Answer basic questions about class locations, arrival, dismissal, and other on-site logistics Help create and maintain Broadway Rise's warm, inclusive, and professional culture Prepare and reset classrooms and shared program spaces Assist teachers with materials and reasonable on-site needs Support student arrival, attendance, transitions, and dismissal Keep classrooms, reception areas, and shared spaces organized Capture authentic, high-quality smartphone photos and videos during classes, rehearsals, teaching moments, performances, and behind-the-scenes activities Follow all privacy and media-permission requirements when capturing content Assist with printing, scanning, organizing materials, preparing paperwork, and other light administrative tasks Provide basic on-site updates to Broadway Rise management Flag parent questions, supply needs, or other matters requiring follow-up Assist with light cleanup as needed Required Weekly Schedule Applicants must be consistently available for all five working shifts:
Monday:
3:00-6:15
PM Tuesday:
2:30-5:45
PM Wednesday:
3:00-6:45
PM Thursday:
3:00-7:15
PM Saturday:
9:30 AM-3:15 PM There are no regularly scheduled shifts on Friday or Sunday. Please apply only if you can reliably work the complete weekly schedule. This position is not suitable for candidates seeking rotating or flexible hours. Hours may vary due to public holidays, scheduled weeks off, and Broadway Rise's program calendar. Additional paid hours may be available during production and performance weeks. Qualifications Naturally warm, outgoing, and comfortable welcoming children, teens, and families Reliable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail Comfortable working independently and taking initiative Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Able to remain calm and helpful in a busy performing arts environment Confident capturing strong smartphone photos and videos Comfortable following privacy and media-permission guidelines Able to collaborate effectively with teachers and Broadway Rise management Comfortable with basic administrative tasks, including printing, scanning, email, and Google Workspace Prior customer service, reception, education, childcare, arts, or studio experience is helpful but not required Interest in theatre, music, dance, education, or the performing arts is a plus Compensation and Employment $23 per hour Approximately 20.25 regular hours per week Approximately $465 per week gross on the regular schedule Temporary part-time W-2 employment for Fall 2026 If the position is a strong fit, there may be an opportunity to continue into the Spring season or expand the role based on Broadway Rise's business and staffing needs. Continued or expanded employment is not guaranteed.
