ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR A

well-established skilled nursing facility is seeking a creative, compassionate, and energetic Activities Director to oversee and enhance its resident engagement program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences that encourage social connection, wellness, independence, and community involvement.

KEY DUTIES

Develop and manage a diverse calendar of activities and programs for residents. Design programs that promote social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being. Coordinate recreational, educational, cultural, fitness, and entertainment activities. Organize special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and community programs. Encourage resident participation while taking individual interests, abilities, and preferences into consideration. Develop meaningful relationships with residents and learn about their interests and backgrounds. Collaborate with families, volunteers, community organizations, and outside vendors as appropriate. Provide leadership, training, and support to activity staff and volunteers. Maintain activity calendars, participation records, and required documentation. Gather resident feedback and evaluate programs to ensure activities remain engaging and meaningful. Partner with the care team to ensure activities are appropriate for residents' individual needs and abilities. Help foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging community. Ensure all programs are conducted safely and in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.

WHAT YOU BRING

Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field. Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Experience working with older adults preferred. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Creative, enthusiastic, dependable, and team-oriented approach. Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple programs, events, and priorities. Basic computer and documentation skills. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
