Job Description

Coleman's Adult Day Services in Ravenna, Ohio was purpose-built for providing the best possible care to each of our clients. We have a unique medical model that features on-staff nursing services, therapeutic diets, personalized care plans, recreational and therapeutic activities, and access to therapy services. We are seeking an exceptional individual to become a member of our team as the Activity Director! The ideal candidate should be kind, patient and willing to assist individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. Focus should be on improving the client's quality of life in the following domains: physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual with an emphasis on leisure needs through activity interventions. Must be available to work 32.5 hours/week from 9:30am-4pm Monday through Friday.

Activity Director:
Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating recreational and therapeutic activities based on the needs and preferences of our clients Maintaining a monthly calendar of events and effectively communicating it to clients as well as documenting client participation in activities Scheduling entertainers and volunteers monthly Running, leading and/or overseeing group activities and one-on-one visits Publishing a monthly newsletter with important facility information Developing an individualized care plan for each client and their specific needs and preferences Working closely with the Nursing Dept to communicate client conditions Maintaining a monthly departmental budget Qualifications of the
Activity Director:
Strong communication and organizational skills High School Diploma or Equivalent Prior experience coordinating activities or events Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare setting or social service setting Prior experience working with older adults and/or individuals with developmental disabilities Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) or Activity Director Certification (ADC) preferred Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
