Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Activity Director to lead our memory care activities program. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating activities designed to meet the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of our residents. Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate the memory care activities program, ensuring that it meets the assessed needs of each resident Plan and coordinate activities, including recreational, educational, cultural, and arts and crafts programs Collaborate with the care team to develop resident goals and objectives, and contribute to the comprehensive care plan Ensure resident safety during activities and maintain a culture of compliance with facility policies and procedures Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling, budgeting, and supervising staff Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives Maintain accurate records and reports, including MDS reports and progress notes Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure smooth program execution
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of experience in a social or recreational program, with a focus on older adults Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional (or eligible for certification) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks CPR licensed and trained in first aid Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
