Job Overview Must be CNA and Activites certified. We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging programs and events that enhance the quality of life for our residents. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and support residents' physical and emotional well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while working within a dynamic team environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that caters to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging resident events such as outings, celebrations, exercise classes, arts and crafts, music therapy sessions, and social gatherings. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and encouraging participation in activities that promote socialization and mental stimulation. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and community partners to ensure activities align with individual care plans and health considerations. Manage scheduling for activities and events to ensure smooth operation while maintaining flexibility for residents' changing needs. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when necessary, providing support that encourages independence and dignity. Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to continuously improve program offerings. Experience Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or long-term care settings. Prior assisted living or nursing home experience is highly preferred, especially with geriatric populations. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and recreational therapy techniques. Familiarity with resident rapport building, social work principles, and aging issues counseling. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, scheduling, and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive environment for residents and staff alike. Pay:
$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
