Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in creating vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for our residents. In this vital role, you will coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a warm community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance residents' quality of life. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and execute engaging resident activities and events that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity Build strong rapport with residents through compassionate communication and personalized engagement strategies Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs), ensuring their comfort and participation in programs Coordinate resident outings, recreational therapy sessions, and special events to foster community involvement Emphasis and encourage resident participation, and feedback to continually improve program offerings Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe environment and effective scheduling of activities that align with care plans Qualifications Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings Strong background in senior care, geriatrics, or working with individuals with disabilities or memory impairments Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support strategies Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with seniors and their families Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling purposes Experience developing engaging programs tailored to geriatric patients and those in long-term care environments Ability to lead team efforts while fostering a positive atmosphere for residents and staff alike Join us as an Activities Assistant where your creativity meets compassion!
