Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our vibrant senior living community. Duties Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of resident-centered activities and events that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical well-being. Assist with developing and implementing recreational therapy programs designed for residents with memory care needs, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual care requirements. Support residents with daily activities of living (ADLs), such as mobility assistance, dressing, and personal hygiene when needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for residents with disabilities or special needs. Manage scheduling of events and coordinate resources to ensure smooth execution of programs. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress in activity logs while fostering a lively, engaging atmosphere. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care environments is highly preferred, especially within nursing homes or senior communities. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia, geriatrics, and memory care best practices is essential. Proven skills in event planning, program development, and recreational therapy tailored for seniors. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with staff members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous.
