A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday About the Team The Children's Institute's therapy team is a leader in pediatric services. Our compassionate and knowledgeable team provides excellent care in Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies. About the Position The Therapy Technician is a full-time, entry-level position responsible for completing job tasks that facilitate the efficient and effective daily operation of the therapy disciplines.Other responsibilities include:
Prepares patient treatment activities prior to sessions and cleans/organizes treatment area after sessions. Assists with patient treatment, such as transfers and group activities. Reinforces therapist's directions, etc. Assistance with patient treatment always occurs under the direct supervision of a therapist. Safely transports patients to and from treatment area. Acts as the Lifeguard for all Aqua Therapy sessions completed in the therapy pools Acts as the second on-site person for all therapy sessions taking place in the therapy gyms, therapy treatment areas, and therapy pools Organizes and maintains order in treatment and storage areas. Identifies low inventory and supply needs and completes restocking. Notifies Supervisor of malfunctioning equipment or equipment in need of repair. Completes filing and copying, answering phones and assists with scheduling. Qualifications High School diploma or GED preferred, basic computer skills. Current and valid certification in CPR and First Aide required (we can provide training) Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.Clearances Required:
