In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and implement a variety of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive activity program that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Coordinate and facilitate resident events, outings, recreational therapy sessions, and special celebrations that cater to residents' interests and abilities. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their individual preferences, histories, and care needs to personalize activities effectively. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and community partners to ensure activities align with residents' health plans and cognitive levels. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed during activities to support independence and safety. Manage scheduling logistics for programs, ensuring timely setup, execution, and cleanup of events while maintaining accurate records of participation. Lead team efforts in program development by training staff on activity implementation and encouraging resident engagement through innovative approaches. Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities or nursing homes; familiarity with senior care environments is essential. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and recreational therapy techniques tailored for geriatric populations. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents with diverse needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for scheduling, documentation, and reporting purposes. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings; home & community care experience is a plus. Ability to develop meaningful programs that foster resident rapport building while supporting aging issues counseling when needed. Demonstrated leadership skills in team coordination and program management within senior living or geriatrics settings.
