We are seeking a Licensed Recreational Therapist (CTRS) to provide individualized, goal-driven therapeutic recreation services to clients with special needs. This independent contractor role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to deliver services in client homes, community settings, and via telehealth , depending on client needs and therapist availability. This position is a 1099 independent contractor role . Therapists are responsible for maintaining their own licensure, insurance, and tax obligations. Responsibilities Provide individualized recreational therapy services in home, community, and virtual settings Complete initial assessments and develop treatment plans aligned with client goals and care plans Implement therapeutic activities including (but not limited to): Leisure skill development Cognitive and executive functioning activities Social skills and communication development Emotional regulation and coping strategies Gross and fine motor skill development Community reintegration and adaptive recreation Collaborate with families and caregivers as appropriate Maintain accurate and timely documentation (progress notes, quarterly reports, and yearly reports) Adhere to ethical standards, professional scope of practice, and applicable state regulations Maintain client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times Qualifications Current CTRS certification through NCTRC (required) Experience providing services in home or community-based settings preferred Comfortable delivering services via telehealth platforms Strong clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills Ability to work independently as a contractor CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Lifeguard Certification for Aquatic Clients (or willingness to obtain) Reliable transportation for community and home-based sessions Independent Contractor Details This is a 1099 independent contractor position Contractor maintains control over scheduling and caseload availability Compensation is per session or per visit , based on service type and experience Contractor is responsible for personal taxes, liability insurance, and licensure maintenance Opportunities to expand caseload across multiple service settings
