Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to residents' interests and needs, fostering social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Duties Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Coordinate special events, outings, recreational therapy sessions, and themed activities that cater to residents' interests and abilities. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and external vendors to ensure activities meet individual care plans and preferences. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility support and participation encouragement. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent engagement while accommodating residents' routines and health needs. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness. Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction among residents with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes. Strong knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, dementia care practices, and aging issues counseling. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners. Ability to organize schedules efficiently while managing multiple activities simultaneously. Compassionate caregiving attitude with a focus on enhancing residents' quality of life through personalized programming. Knowledge of home & community care practices is a plus; familiarity with assisted living regulations is beneficial.
