Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team in creating engaging, meaningful experiences for residents in a senior living or assisted living environment. In this role, you will design and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, fostering social connection, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help enhance residents' quality of life, promote independence, and build a vibrant community atmosphere. Duties Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities that cater to residents' interests, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities such as Alzheimer's care, memory care exercises, and dementia-friendly programs. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring comfort and safety during participation. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of planned events while accommodating individual needs. Foster social interaction among residents by encouraging participation and facilitating group dynamics. Maintain detailed records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback to continually improve programming. Support residents in aging issues counseling by providing emotional support and promoting mental well-being through engaging interactions. Skills Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings. Strong background in senior care, including long-term care experience and familiarity with Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and memory care strategies. Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored for individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, and team members. Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility, dressing, grooming, and other personal care tasks. Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly throughout the day. Compassionate approach with a focus on caregiving principles and understanding aging issues counseling needs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is a plus. Join us in creating joyful moments that enrich lives! Pay:
$12.00 - $12.75 per hour
