Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Activities Director to join our team at a nursing home specializing in senior care. The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors through engaging activities. Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of recreational activities for residents in a nursing home or assisted living facility
  • Develop and implement programs tailored to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents, including those with dementia
  • Coordinate outings, events, and social gatherings within the community
  • Collaborate with caregivers and staff to ensure activities align with residents' care plans
  • Maintain documentation of activity participation and resident engagement
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed Experience
  • Previous experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or a related field
  • Familiarity with nursing home, assisted living, or long-term care environments
  • Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques
  • Ability to provide compassionate and engaging care to seniors
  • Certification or degree in a relevant field such as recreational therapy or caregiving is a plus
