The candidate should have the following characteristics and or experience.
Activity Director Job Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly newsletter for distribution to all residents and families. Develop and pursues a varied program of meaningful activities and events that is balanced in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements. Meets and greets each person upon move-in to welcome them and their family and friends to the facility. Arranges for community groups to come into the Facility such as pet therapy, schools, churches and entertainers. Decorates the common areas for special events and holidays. Conducts individual and group interactions. Maintains inventory of supplies and manages budget. Attends weekly Care Plan Meetings Documents on Resident participation
Activity Director Job Requirements:
Certification as required by State regulations for activities. Pass a criminal background check. Compassionate spirit and enthusiasm for working with the elderly. Experience working with seniors. Ability to work flexible days between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm and weekends on occasion. Proficient in written and verbal English. Computer experience and ability to-use or learn to use software programs. MDS experience preferred but not required.
