Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, including those with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Coordinate resident events that promote socialization, physical activity, and cognitive engagement while ensuring safety and accessibility. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual needs to create personalized activity plans. Collaborate with team members, caregivers, and family members to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and enhance their quality of life. Manage scheduling of activities efficiently using tools like Microsoft Office to ensure timely execution and resource allocation. Lead recreational therapy sessions that support aging issues counseling, memory care, and geriatrics-focused programs. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and program outcomes to continually improve activity offerings. Skills Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or assisted living environments. Strong background in assisted living or nursing home settings with a focus on long-term care or home & community care. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and working with geriatric patients. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents effectively and coordinating with team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for schedule management, documentation, and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that foster resident rapport building while supporting cognitive and physical health. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs within senior populations is highly desirable. Leadership qualities that enable effective team collaboration while managing multiple activities simultaneously.
