Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Community Activity Director to lead engaging programs and activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in a senior living community. In this vital role, you will create vibrant, meaningful experiences tailored to the interests and needs of residents, fostering a warm, inclusive environment. Your leadership will inspire residents to stay active, socially connected, and mentally stimulated, promoting overall well-being and happiness. Duties Plan, develop, and coordinate a diverse calendar of recreational activities, events, and programs that cater to residents' interests and abilities. Foster strong relationships with residents through personalized engagement and rapport building to ensure activities meet their preferences and needs. Lead and supervise activity staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program execution. Collaborate with care teams to integrate therapeutic activities such as recreational therapy or memory care initiatives that support residents with Alzheimer's or dementia. Manage scheduling logistics for resident events, ensuring smooth operation and participation. Maintain detailed records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback to evaluate program effectiveness. Communicate effectively with residents' families and team members regarding upcoming events and resident participation. Skills Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or long-term care settings. Strong background in assisted living or nursing home environments, with familiarity in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and geriatrics. Excellent communication skills for engaging with seniors, families, staff, and community partners. Ability to develop innovative programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity for older adults. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, reporting, and correspondence management. Demonstrated leadership skills in team coordination and staff supervision. Knowledge of aging issues counseling, memory care strategies, and working with individuals with disabilities. Experience working with geriatric patients or seniors with complex health needs is highly preferred.
