Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Adult Daycare Activity Director to lead engaging, meaningful activities that enhance the quality of life for our senior participants. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a diverse range of recreational and therapeutic programs tailored to meet the unique needs of older adults, including those with memory impairments or disabilities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of seniors while working within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in elder care. Duties Develop and implement innovative activity programs that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Coordinate resident events, outings, and special celebrations that encourage community engagement and resident participation. Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions, understanding their preferences, histories, and individual needs. Lead recreational therapy sessions designed to support memory care, dementia care, and geriatrics-focused activities. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to tailor activities that align with each resident's health status and care plan. Manage scheduling of daily activities, ensuring smooth operation and maximum participation while maintaining safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress notes, and activity outcomes to inform ongoing care strategies. Skills Proven experience in event planning and program development within assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Strong background in senior care, including assisted living experience, long-term care experience, or home & community care. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents effectively and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport through compassionate caregiving and personalized attention. Leadership skills to supervise staff or volunteers involved in activity programming while fostering teamwork.
Pay:
$13.50 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
