A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description

Recreational Therapist North Austin | Round Rock | Liberty Hill Peaced Together Therapies is a small, family-owned practice that has been serving families for eight years. We're proud of the meaningful progress our clients have made and the creativity, dedication, and heart our therapists bring to that work. We're looking for Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) who believe in seeing the able, not the label . This is a great fit for a therapist who is creative in their approach, thinks beyond traditional methods of service delivery, and understands that recreation can be a powerful pathway to greater independence, confidence, connection, and quality of life. The Role You'll provide individualized therapeutic recreation services to individuals receiving CLASS waiver services in their homes and communities.
You will:
Assess client strengths, needs, interests, and goals. Develop and implement individualized therapeutic recreation plans. Create meaningful, purposeful activities that support functional and personal goals. Adapt interventions based on each client's progress and needs. Maintain accurate, objective clinical documentation. Collaborate professionally with families, caregivers, and other members of the care team. We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field. Current CTRS credential through NCTRC . Strong clinical communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently in community-based settings. Reliable transportation and ability to travel within your service area. A creative, person-centered approach to therapeutic recreation. A genuine belief in the potential of the people you serve.
