A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Collage Home and Community Rehabilitation Partners is a growing organization dedicated to excellence, honesty, and ethics in treating our clients and each other. We provide treatment for traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neuro or complex ortho diagnoses in the most functional setting there is - a person's own home and community. We are looking for experienced Therapeutic Recreation Specialists who want to provide truly patient-centered care in San Antonio, TX and surrounding areas - with PRN positions that accept patients for the duration of their stay available. Our interdisciplinary teams create integrated treatment plans that are practiced in patient's homes and communities. Our therapists are creative in their approach and incorporate a variety of activities to ignite interest while addressing functional goals. This evidence-based approach results in durable outcomes. Our experienced teams step up to the challenge of building a program that is just right for our patient's specific issues. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Evaluation, treatment, and education of neuro-rehab patients including planning, organizing, and coordination of recreation activities, functional leisure skills, and leisure education Assess capabilities/interests/barriers Monitor progress and recommend changes/modifications to the program as required Perform home assessments and assist the patients with the transition to home and community
Qualifications:
