A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Veteran Therapist - Full Time and Part Time Andrews Center - 3.4 Tyler, TX Job Details Part-time | Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Patients with traumatic brain injuries Master's degree Experience working with individuals with trauma-related disorders Mental health counseling Full Job Description Therapist must have a Master's degree in behavioral science and two-years (2) post-degree professional mental health services experience, including working with seriously mentally ill individuals. Crisis counseling, and commitment evaluation experience preferred. Appropriate state licensure is required (e.g., LPC, LCSW, Ph.D., etc.).They must be familiar in working with PTSD, TBI, and military sexual trauma. They must be certified within one year of taking the position in EMDR, PE, or CPT and certified by TVC in MIC at or within 6 months or contract or hire. Will perform screenings for services, intake evaluations, plan treatment strategies, and implement treatment.
