In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee therapeutic recreational programs tailored to the aging community. Your expertise will help enhance quality of life, promote recovery, and foster social engagement through innovative activities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the skilled nursing setting. Responsibilities Clinical Oversight and Recreation Therapy Services ensuring we are meeting the Utah State Guidelines. Provide support and consultation for Therapeutic Recreation Technicians (TRT's) Oversee, Document, and help to collaborate in the care plan process. Assist Facilities with improving documentation for efficiency and consistency Develop systems and process the will enhance compliance and quality outcomes. Monitor compliance with the Utah Recreation Therapy Practice Act, DOPL regulations, and applicable CMS requirements. Conduct Audits, mock Surveys and program evaluations. Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and support for recreation therapy staff and TRTs. Develop educational materials related to recreation therapy practice, compliance, documentation, and Medicaid services. Assist facilities in developing innovative and meaningful recreation therapy programming. Requirements Current Utah licensure as a Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS). Meets qualifications to provide consultation to Therapeutic Recreation Technicians under Utah law. Thorough knowledge of the Utah Recreation Therapy Practice Act and Administrative Rules. Knowledge of CMS regulations, long-term care standards, Medicaid requirements, and documentation practices. Experience in recreation therapy assessment, treatment planning, and program development. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and educational skills. Ability to travel between assigned facilities. Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, behavioral health, or long-term care settings. (preferred) Experience with Medicaid billing and reimbursement systems.
