Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable programs for our senior residents. In this vital role, you will design and coordinate a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical wellness, and overall quality of life. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate diverse recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Coordinate resident events such as social gatherings, outings, educational workshops, and therapeutic activities that promote engagement and community involvement Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of belonging Collaborate with staff members across departments to ensure activities align with individual care plans and support residents' physical and emotional needs Manage schedules for activity calendars, ensuring timely execution of programs while accommodating residents' routines and preferences Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) when needed during events or outings Maintain detailed records of resident participation, feedback, and activity outcomes to continually improve program offerings Experience Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care programs, and geriatric populations Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in long-term or home & community care settings Strong knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and program development tailored for older adults Demonstrated ability to build rapport with residents through compassionate communication and personalized engagement Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes Leadership experience managing teams or coordinating volunteer efforts in senior living or healthcare settings Excellent communication skills to effectively connect with residents, families, staff, and community partners Join us in creating a lively community where seniors thrive through engaging activities that enrich their lives!
