Activities Director / Director of Life Enrichment - Senior Living Spring Oak Senior Living at Warrenton Warrenton, Virginia Spring Oak is proud to be recognized as a Great Place to Work . Our Warrenton location is a small, close-knit assisted living community with 35 apartments and 41 licensed beds . This allows our team members to know residents personally and create programs based on their interests, abilities, and life experiences. We are seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activities Director / Director of Life Enrichment to lead our resident engagement program. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys planning engaging programs, leading groups, encouraging participation, and adapting activities for different interests and abilities. Candidates with experience in education, recreation, hospitality, community programming, senior living, or other people-focused environments are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Develop and lead a varied calendar of daily, evening, and weekend activities. Plan social, educational, recreational, cultural, spiritual, and wellness-focused programs. Create activities that reflect residents' interests, abilities, backgrounds, and preferences. Coordinate outings, entertainment, special events, holiday celebrations, volunteers, and community partnerships. Encourage participation and provide individualized engagement for residents who may not attend group activities. Manage the Life Enrichment budget, supplies, activity spaces, calendars, and required documentation. Evaluate programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and participation. Collaborate with families, the Executive Director, and department leaders to support residents' overall well-being. Ensure programs comply with community policies and applicable state requirements.Qualifications:
Previous experience planning and leading activities, lessons, programs, events, or group experiences. Experience in senior living, education, recreation, hospitality, community programming, or a related setting is preferred. Strong group leadership skills and the ability to motivate, encourage, and connect with others. Creative, enthusiastic, organized, and comfortable leading groups. Strong communication, time-management, and relationship-building skills. Compassionate, patient, dependable, and understanding of the aging process. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record preferred for resident outings. Activity Director or therapeutic recreation certification is a plus. Why Join Spring Oak?
