$4000/week Job Description We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team on a travel contract. In this role, you will provide direct patient care to newborns and their families, ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice. You will work in a dynamic, cross-cultural environment, caring for a diverse patient population ranging from birth to elderly, with a primary focus on neonatal care. Key Responsibilities Patient Care:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients, utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal outcomes.
Care Coordination:
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide cost-effective, efficient care.
Clinical Skills:
Administer medications, treatments, interpret diagnostic tests, and maintain proficiency with fetal monitors and other medical equipment.
Education:
Provide patient, family, and significant-other education regarding health conditions and care plans.
Leadership:
Serve as a resource person for unit secretaries and OB Techs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
Compliance:
Adhere to AWHONN standards, YKHC's mission, and all applicable policies and regulations.
Qualifications Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must be a graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent OB/NICU experience required. Licensure & Certifications (Must be active at time of application): Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Fetal Monitoring certification.
Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and the nursing process.
