Position Overview Copper Basin Surgery Center is a state licensed and AAAHC accredited, single operating room ambulatory surgery center dedicated to providing safe, efficient, high quality surgical care in a focused, patient centered environment. We are seeking multiple dependable, professional Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center team. We are currently hiring RNs to support Pre Operative, Post Operative / PACU, and Moderate / Conscious Sedation nursing care. Candidates do not need to have experience in every area to be considered. We are interested in experienced nurses with strong clinical skills who are willing to work collaboratively and cross train based on the needs of the surgery center. Moderate / conscious sedation experience is highly valued but is not required for every position. Nurses without previous conscious sedation experience may be considered if they have a strong clinical foundation and are willing to complete appropriate training and competency validation. We are looking for nurses who are dependable, professional, adaptable, and comfortable working in a small, fast paced clinical environment. Patient safety, teamwork, accountability, and excellent patient care are extremely important to us. Key Responsibilities Pre Operative Care

• Perform patient assessments and review medical histories prior to procedures
• Verify procedure information, consent documentation, allergies, medications, and patient readiness
• Start IVs and administer pre operative medications as ordered
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe patient preparation Moderate / Conscious Sedation
• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing procedures with moderate / conscious sedation in accordance with facility policies and provider orders
• Perform and document ongoing patient assessments throughout the procedure
• Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, level of consciousness, airway status, pain, and overall patient response
• Administer medications as ordered and within the RN's authorized scope and facility policies
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Maintain patient safety throughout the procedure and recovery period Post Operative / PACU Care
• Monitor patients during recovery following surgical and procedural care
• Assess vital signs, pain levels, airway status, level of consciousness, and overall patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Identify and respond appropriately to post operative complications
• Assess patient readiness for discharge according to established criteria
• Provide discharge instructions and patient and family education for recovery at home Clinical & Team Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Follow infection prevention, medication safety, and facility policies and procedures
• Assist with patient flow and room turnover as needed
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and families
• Support a professional, collaborative, patient centered care environment
• Be willing to cross train and assist in other clinical areas as appropriate Qualifications
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required or expected to have within 60 days
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a small, collaborative team Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
• Pre Op / PACU
• Procedural nursing
• Moderate / conscious sedation
• Critical care
• Emergency nursing
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Candidates without previous moderate / conscious sedation experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay:

$42.00 - $49.00 per hour
