Job Description
Key Responsibilities Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients as they emerge from anesthesia, closely monitoring vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, oxygen saturation), level of consciousness, and signs of anesthesia-related side effects.Airway Management:
Ensure a stable and patent airway for patients, administer oxygen, and be prepared to manage airway obstructions.Pain Management:
Administer prescribed pain medications and implement strategies to alleviate post-operative pain and ensure patient comfort.Complication Detection:
Identify and respond to potential complications, such as bleeding, respiratory distress, or adverse reactions to anesthesia, and initiate interventions.Post-Operative Care:
Provide wound care, change dressings, and assist patients with regaining motor control and strength.Medication Administration:
Administer post-operative medications.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.Documentation:
Accurately document patient status, treatments, and clinical findings in paper patient chart.Emergency Response:
Respond to emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and operate medical equipment as needed. Requirements- Surgery PACU experience or Surgery experience would be beneficial
