Travel Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Cottondale, AL

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Travel A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with Respiratory Medical/Surgical expertise to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. This travel nursing position offers the chance to work on a specialized Medical Respiratory unit dedicated to treating patients with acute and chronic respiratory ailments alongside other medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care on a 42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit focusing on patients with pneumonia, COPD, shortness of breath, and other lung diseases. Care for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, stroke, and occasional surgical cases. Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team for daily patient rounds. Float to other units and hospitals as needed, demonstrating flexibility. Manage care ratios of 1:6 on primary unit and 1:4 in the 8-bed respiratory step-down unit. Work either 36 or 48 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday coverage as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Associate Degree in Nursing required. Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact license (no temporary licenses accepted). Valid AHA BLS or Red Cross Certification. Minimum 18 months experience under the highest professional nursing license with at least 1 year of recent experience in medical respiratory-surgical specialty. Ability and willingness to float to other units and hospitals.
