Overview 🏥 Registered Nurse (RN) Southern Cancer Center | Foley, AL Southern Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Foley location . This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of oncology patients through expert clinical care and interprofessional collaboration. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Assessment Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate continuity of care. Interview patients to assess health status and medical history. Record nursing assessments, interventions, and report findings to providers. Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support. Therapy Administration Administer medications and blood products safely and accurately. Ensure pre-authorizations and consent forms are completed. Modify doses based on assessments and protocols. Perform venipuncture, access ports, and maintain central lines. Clinical Operations Maintain accurate documentation and apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures. Restock supplies and follow OSHA guidelines for hazardous materials. Assist with exams, procedures, and patient flow. Schedule tests, referrals, and follow-up appointments. Triage patient calls and coordinate interdisciplinary communication. Collaboration & Development Support clinical research and act as a resource for LPNs and medical assistants. Provide coverage for satellite offices as needed. Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain oncology nursing knowledge. Specialty-Specific Responsibilities Infusion RN Program and instruct patients on portable infusion pumps. Maintain and document pump usage and cleaning protocols. Qualifications Qualifications Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Active RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing. Current BLS certification. Must meet continuing education requirements. Experience 0-3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience preferred. Working Conditions Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations typical in oncology settings. Physical demands include standing/walking for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, and full range of motion. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
