Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract An exceptional opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care on a contract assignment in a dynamic, high-acuity hospital environment. This hospital features a Level II Trauma Center, a Level III NICU, and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center. With multiple specialized units ranging from Trauma Surgical and Neuroscience to Orthopedics, Oncology, and Clinical Decision, this role is ideal for passionate nurses ready to manage diverse patient populations.
Schedule & Shift Details:
12-hour day shifts (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) Consistent 36/48 hour workweeks Weekend rotation: every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month No on-call required
Qualifications:
Valid RN license and current
BLS, NIHSS
certifications Minimum 18 months' recent experience in Medical-Surgical and/or ICU nursing Epic or Cerner EMR experience required (Cerner needed for those with ICU-exclusive background) Demonstrated competencies in wound care, chest tubes, IV skills, NGT, medication administration, trach care, blood draws, telemetry interpretation, and various patient equipment Willingness to float between approved units based on staffing needs Open to first-time travelers who meet experience criteria
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients within designated specialty units Complete comprehensive assessments, prioritize care, and ensure accurate documentation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including CNAs, phlebotomists, and charge nurses Interpret and document telemetry readings every 4 hours Participate in unit orientation, scheduled training, and competency verification Facilitate patient education and support family communications
