Wound Care / Staff Development Nurse Knollwood Healthcare - Mobile, AL Knollwood Healthcare is looking for a dedicated and experienced Wound Care / Staff Development Nurse to join our team! We are seeking a compassionate, organized nursing professional who is committed to providing high-quality resident care while supporting and educating our nursing staff. Position Responsibilities Assess, monitor, and manage residents with wounds and skin conditions. Develop and implement individualized wound care plans. Perform ongoing wound assessments and document progress accurately. Monitor treatments and ensure wound care orders are followed appropriately. Collaborate with physicians, wound care providers, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Identify changes in residents' skin integrity and communicate concerns promptly. Provide education and training to nursing staff regarding wound prevention, treatment, infection control, and documentation. Assist with orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff. Conduct competency training and skills education as needed. Monitor nursing practices for compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance. Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Qualifications Current Alabama RN or LPN license in good standing. Previous long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred. Wound care experience strongly preferred. Staff development, education, or nursing leadership experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to educate, coach, and work effectively with nursing staff. Knowledge of CMS, state, and long-term care regulatory requirements preferred.
