Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Psych Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in psychiatric and geriatric care for a contract opportunity. This role focuses on providing compassionate, professional nursing support within a geriatric psychiatric setting, ensuring the well-being and dignity of every patient.
Schedule/Hours:
PM shift availability is required
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license with psychiatric nursing experience Previous experience in geriatric care or geri-psych settings preferred Ability to assess, monitor, and document patient mental health status Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies Current BLS certification
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for geriatric psychiatric patients Administer prescribed medications and monitor for efficacy and side effects Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and allied health professionals to coordinate care Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies with prompt, effective interventions Foster a therapeutic and safe environment that supports recovery and quality of life for patients Enjoy the opportunity to work in a specialized setting providing meaningful care to an aging population.
