Advantis Medical Staffing seeks an experienced Med-Surg Travel Nurse for a day-shift assignment in Pell City, AL. In this role, you'll deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a busy medical-surgical unit, including assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, and discharge teaching. You'll collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining safety, quality, and documentation standards. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to adult med-surg patients on a travel assignment Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies per physician orders Monitor, assess, and document patient status and vital signs accurately Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans Maintain infection control and patient safety standards Use EMR systems to document care and update records Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently Communicate effectively with unit staff and Advantis Medical Staffing team Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing IV insertion and management Medication administration Patient assessment Telemetry monitoring Wound care Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Care planning and coordination Infection control Patient and family education
