Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career in a dynamic hospital environment, working the night shift as a key member of the care team. This contract opportunity specializes in step-down care, with responsibilities extending across both the Med-Surg and Step Down Unit (SDU) floors. Your expertise will be vital in monitoring, assessing, and rapidly responding to patient needs in a fast-paced setting.
Schedule:
Night shift: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
Qualifications:
Current and active RN license Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in medical-surgical or telemetry settings Previous experience in a step-down unit strongly preferred Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system is required Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills Flexibility to float between Med-Surg and SDU floors as needed Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with acute or complex conditions in step-down and Med-Surg environments Monitor telemetry and other vital signs, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status promptly Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Safely administer medications and treatments according to facility protocols Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Cerner EHR Offer compassionate support to patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and education
