This contract position focuses on providing dedicated support to patients in a behavioral health setting, requiring compassion, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality psychiatric nursing.
Key Qualifications:
Current RN license in good standing Demonstrated experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team Strong therapeutic communication and crisis intervention skills Understanding of regulatory guidelines and patient rights BLS certification required
Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to psychiatric patients, supporting both their physical and emotional needs Conduct mental health assessments and participate in creating individualized treatment plans Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects or side effects Collaborate closely with physicians, counselors, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care Maintain detailed and accurate documentation according to facility and legal standards Respond proactively to emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques and safety protocols Support a safe, therapeutic environment and advocate for patient dignity and well-being
