Job Description

Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) - Vascular & Wound Care / Office-Based Lab (OBL) Advanced Vascular and Wound Care is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team. This position will provide direct patient care in both our outpatient vascular and wound care clinic as well as our Office-Based Laboratory (OBL) where minimally invasive vascular procedures are performed. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent clinical skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Position Summary The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assisting providers with wound care treatments, patient education, clinical assessments, procedure preparation and recovery, and supporting daily operations within the OBL. The nurse will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality vascular and wound care services. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWound Care Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately. Assist providers with wound evaluations, debridement procedures, dressing applications, and ongoing treatment plans. Apply and manage advanced wound care products and therapies. Educate patients and caregivers regarding wound care, medications, disease processes, and treatment plans. Monitor wound healing progress and report concerns to providers. Perform dressing changes and compression therapy as ordered. Maintain accurate and timely medical records within the electronic health record (EHR). Office-Based Laboratory (OBL) Responsibilities Prepare patients for vascular procedures, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing medications, and ensuring appropriate pre-procedure documentation. Assist physicians during endovascular and vascular procedures. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures. Administer medications as ordered and monitor for adverse reactions. Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions. Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards. Assist with inventory management and stocking of procedural supplies. General Responsibilities Coordinate patient care with providers and other healthcare professionals. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies. Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Support clinic workflow and assist with other duties as assigned. Foster a positive, professional, and patient-centered environment. QualificationsRequired Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Current BLS certification. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience in wound care, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, cath lab, operating room, emergency department, or procedural nursing. ACLS certification. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR). Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity necessary for wound care treatments and procedural assistance.
