Job Description
Unity Psychiatric Care seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver evidence-based inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care for adult and geriatric patients. The RN conducts assessments, administers medications, manages crises, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Responsibilities Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to adult and geriatric inpatients and outpatients Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and monitor patient status and safety Administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and manage side effects Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and coping strategies De-escalate crises using therapeutic communication and safety protocols Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record Participate in treatment team meetings, discharge planning, and care coordination Uphold quality, safety, and regulatory standards in all clinical activities Support a compassionate, respectful, and recovery-focused treatment environment Required Skills Psychiatric nursing Mental health assessment Medication administration (psychotropics) Suicide and risk assessment Crisis intervention and de-escalation Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Behavioral health safety protocols Interdisciplinary team collaboration
