A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Qualifications:
Licensed as a Nurse in the state of Arkansas Graduate from an accredited school of nursing 2 years licensed nursing experience Current certification in CPR and First Aid Training with
AHA or Red Cross Requirements:
Pass a State Police Criminal Background Check and a DHS Child Maltreatment Background Check Cost approximately $35 (self pay)

Based on salary schedule for RN or LPN.

Building Principal and District Nurse Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management and referral of students. Provides for the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention of injuries and illness. Responsible for the direct and indirect care of students in compliance with the school district policies, professional standards of practice, physician orders, and the Individual Health Care Plan. Functions in accordance with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the school district's policies and procedures. Responsible for the Health Services Office, administering all medications, first aid, student care, forms and reports.
