Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques. Manage complex medical procedures such as suturing, catheterization, ventilator management, and wound care in accordance with best practices. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients across acute care, long-term care, hospice, and behavioral health settings. Conduct triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room environments to prioritize patient needs effectively. Provide patient education on medication administration, pain management strategies, chronic disease management—including cardiology, infectious disease care, geriatrics—and post-discharge instructions. Requirements Valid RN license in the state of practice with current CPR/BLS certification. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or trauma centers. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with medical documentation standards including MDS (Minimum Data Set) for long-term care. Demonstrated skills in IV insertion, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, and aseptic technique. Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments accurately while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; knowledge of dementia/dementia care or memory care preferred. Critical care experience such as ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings like urgent care or hospital environments.
