Mercy is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Main Operating Room team. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive perioperative care, supporting patients and surgical teams before, during, and after procedures. You will prepare and maintain sterile environments, monitor patient status, administer medications, and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow clinicians to ensure safe, efficient surgeries. Responsibilities Provide direct perioperative nursing care to patients in the main operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient condition Prepare OR suites, ensure proper sterilization, and verify surgical instruments and supplies Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures Educate patients and families on surgical processes, post-operative care, and discharge instructions Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes accurately in the EMRFollow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards to maintain a safe surgical environment Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing clinical education Required Skills Perioperative nursing Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Infection control and aseptic technique Operating room instrumentation and equipment use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Cardiac and respiratory monitoring Pre- and post-operative patient education Interdisciplinary teamwork Clinical decision-making and critical thinking
