A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
- Assesses acute physical illnesses and injuries within scope of practice.
- Records medical information within the patients' electronic medical record as instructed by the provider.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents. May order supplies/equipment/reagents as authorized or ensure that needs are escalated appropriately. Receives supply orders and confirms accuracy of delivery. May assist with cost control.
- Attends workshops, seminars and/or conferences to keep abreast of standards and best practices within the field. Disseminates information to colleagues and/or staff as appropriate.
- Participates in safety programs and orientation of new staff. Assists in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
- Establishes priorities for nursing care through patient assessment and develops nursing care plans. Prepares equipment and assists provider during examination, testing, and treatment of patients as needed.
- Assists with infection control compliance within the practice.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary health care services and arranges diagnostic tests as ordered by providers.
- As needed, administers appropriate injections and medications as ordered by medical providers in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines. Educates patients and staff on pharmacological/drug effects and protocol requirements, if applicable.
- Triages patient inquiries and communicates test results.
- Makes appropriate referrals and facilitates access to private and community health resources.
- Provides assistance in developing departmental goals, objectives and policies.
Minimum Qualifications & Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of Arkansas, or eligible for an RN license in the state of
Arkansas Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a registered nurse
- Experience in a collegiate Health and Wellness Center/ Urgent Care/ Emergency Room
- Proficiency in EHR software
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment Location, Environment, & Physical Demands Main Campus - Russellville, AR This position requires working on a university campus and may include evening and weekend hours as needed to effectively deliver and support programs and services.
