Hospitals, Physicians Clinics Description Job Summary We are seeking a per diem Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN) to support our client sites primarily in Novato and Berkeley, CA. This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness care, worker's comp, wellness education for employees within the nursing scope of practice, the structure of the Client Standards, policies, procedures, and treatment care guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director. Responds to emergent and non-emergent situations Maintain Electronic Medical Record (EMR- Cority) and ensures complete & accurate documentation May perform regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests A1C's, Cholestec's, Provides preventive health education to employees as needed within scope of practice. Participates in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, scheduling, filing, copying charts). Maintain clinic's medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staff Maintains communication with the Clinic Lead, Program Manager and client as necessary Coordinates employee exams & medical surveillance Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary. Qualifications Education and Experience Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of California Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred. Must hold current BLS certification 3-5 years RN experience required 2-3 years' experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred Certification in Occupational Health preferred Skills and Competencies Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making. Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports. Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to create and edit written materials. Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients. Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills. Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals. Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed. Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Computer Skills Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed. Physical Demands Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk. Some bending and stretching could be required. Working under stress and use of computer/phone required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Work Environment Mainly indoor, office environment conditions. The noise level is usually moderate. Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled. This position has an hourly pay range of $59 - $64 per hour. Final compensation offered within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
