1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 5 years of experience and a CA RN license. Details Med/Surg Tele unit setting Cares for patients with Falls, Sepsis, UTI, Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, and CHF Exacerbation Patient ratio of 1:5 Epic charting system experience preferred 5/8s night shift schedule (2300-0730) Every other weekend required On-call as needed Requirements Active CA RN license required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required NIHSS certification preferred Minimum 5 years of experience required Trauma Level I and II experience preferred Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required Experience with port access/management and blood product administration preferred Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and using rapid response/code teams preferred Experience with heparin protocols preferred Experience with ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and traction preferred Experience with substance withdrawal management preferred Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required Additional Information Provide care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, respiratory support, and genitourinary/renal management Responsibilities may include chest tube management, oxygen administration, continuous bladder irrigation, and pre/post hemodialysis care Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate Local candidates accepted at the local rate Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
