Global Service Resources is looking for a registry/contract Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for Hi Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, CA.

Pay Rate:

$67 to $70/hr on W2.

Schedule:

12PM to 12:30AM, 3x12, 36 hours per week

Contract:

13 weeks with a high chance of extension

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery RN at an inpatient/acute care hospital
• Must have valid California Registered Nurse License
• BLS from American Heart Association
• ACLS Certification
• NRP Certification
• Must not have been an employee of any Tenet hospitals in the last 12 months
• Must pass background check and drug test

Some Duties Include:

Patient Assessment and Monitoring Assess maternal vital signs, contraction patterns, and cervical dilation. Perform continuous or intermittent fetal heart monitoring. Evaluate high-risk or routine pregnancy complications. Labor and Delivery Support Administer prescribed labor-inducing or pain-relief medications (such as Pitocin or epidural support). Provide continuous physical comfort and emotional support to the patient. Assist the surgical and medical care team during spontaneous, assisted, or surgical (C-section) births. Postpartum and Newborn Care Monitor maternal recovery in the immediate postpartum period for hemorrhages or blood pressure complications. Evaluate newborn status, perform initial evaluations (like Apgar scoring), and support skin-to-skin contact. Provide new-parent education covering basic infant care and breastfeeding. Unit Coordination and Leadership Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of doctors, midwives, and support staff. Complete accurate and timely electronic health record documentation. Delegate tasks and oversee safety guidelines; may act as a charge nurse when assigned.
