Registered Nurse Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in an outpatient pain management practice and procedure suite. The RN performs comprehensive patient assessments, administers medications and intravenous therapies, assists with interventional pain management procedures, monitors patients before, during, and after treatment, and provides patient education while promoting exceptional clinical outcomes. Working collaboratively with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the RN ensures compliance with organizational policies, California Board of Registered Nursing standards, HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention guidelines, and applicable federal and state regulations. Primary Expectations and Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Assessment Provide direct patient care by assessing, evaluating, and implementing nursing interventions based on individual patient needs and the established plan of care. Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, recognizing and responding promptly to changes requiring medical intervention. Respond effectively to medical emergencies by providing immediate nursing care and stabilizing patients until additional medical assistance is available. Advocate for patients by promoting their rights, preferences, and participation in their plan of care while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered service. Medication Administration & Procedural Support Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the supervising provider while monitoring for therapeutic response, adverse reactions, and potential side effects. Prepare, verify, and administer medications in accordance with physician orders, organizational policies, and patient safety standards. Perform intravenous (IV) placement and removal using appropriate sterile techniques and established clinical protocols. Administer topical anesthesia and intravenous sedation as ordered by the supervising physician while continuously monitoring patient response. Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies before procedures and efficiently clean, disinfect, restock, and prepare rooms between patients in accordance with infection prevention standards. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including assessments, medications, treatments, and patient progress. Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable federal and California regulatory requirements. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical nursing standards in all aspects of care delivery. Patient Education & Care Coordination Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, procedures, preventive care, and self-management strategies. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective, and efficient patient care. Communicate patient concerns, changes in condition, and care recommendations to the appropriate healthcare team members. Quality Improvement & Professional Developmen t Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency. Maintain clinical competency through continuing education, professional development, and compliance with applicable licensure and certification requirements. Authority The Registered Nurse is authorized to perform professional nursing duties within the scope of California RN licensure, organizational policies, physician orders, and applicable federal and state regulations. The RN exercises independent nursing judgment in assessing patients, implementing nursing interventions, administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and communicating significant clinical findings to the appropriate provider. This position is authorized to document patient care, provide patient education, assist with procedures, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role does not have independent prescribing authority or supervisory authority unless specifically delegated by leadership. Physical and Mental Demands This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the clinical environment while providing direct patient care and assisting with interventional procedures. The Registered Nurse must possess the manual dexterity and fine motor skills necessary to perform patient assessments, administer medications, start intravenous lines, monitor patients receiving moderate sedation, operate medical equipment, and accurately document care within the electronic medical record (EMR). The role requires the ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies, maintain prolonged concentration in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and prioritize multiple patient care responsibilities while exercising sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail. Requirements Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing). Completion/Passage of state-approved training program and the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California. Current BLS Certification Previous clinical nursing experience in pain management, ambulatory care, procedural services, surgery, or a related healthcare setting preferred.

•3:00 PM, official schedule TBD and requires additional flexibility for the ability to work as early as 6:00am and as late as 5:00pm as schedule changes are subject to change based on operational need.

Part-Time/ On-Call:

Schedule agreement decided upon hire.
