1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring prior travel experience and 2+ years of acute medical care coordination experience. Details Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Patient ratio of 1:25 Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive Floating required to a sister facility in Laguna Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted if licensed by start date Minimum 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing care coordination within the last 3 months Prior travel nursing experience required Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred Experience with appeals and denials, discharge planning, disease management, and needs assessment/DME ordering preferred Familiarity with CMS, DRG, HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission regulatory guidelines preferred Experience in Emergency Department, ICU, and Surgical Services specialties preferred Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Additional Information Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, and order of DME May involve worker's compensation and disability case management duties Scrub color required is turquoise or business casual attire Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for travel rate eligibility Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
