Under the leadership of the department director and assistant director, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for planning directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.

Experience:

A minimum of one year current practice in an acute care hospital with telemetry experience. Must pass the arrhythmia interpretation/telemetry test at 85% prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment of telemetry/monitored patients, then annually thereafter.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment.

Assigned Work Hours:

0.9 FTE 36 hrs per week variable shifts Rotating weekends/holidays

Position Type:

Regular Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $72.83 to $97.40 The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential:

$5.50

Hourly Night Shift Differential:

$8.00
