PRN Surgery Nurse / Surgical TechnicianPre-Op / PACU | Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Join Our Growing Fertility Surgery Team! We are seeking an experienced and compassionate PRN Surgery Nurse or Surgical Technician to join our dynamic fertility team. This position plays an essential role in supporting patients throughout their surgical experience, from pre-operative preparation through post-anesthesia recovery. Position Overview As a PRN Surgery Nurse , you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing fertility-related procedures and surgeries. You will work closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, surgical staff, and the fertility care team to ensure safe and efficient surgical workflows and optimal patient outcomes. Qualified Surgical Technicians may also be considered based on experience and scope of practice.

Fertility / Ambulatory Surgery Key Responsibilities Assess patients' readiness for surgery by reviewing medical history, medications, allergies, vital signs, and conducting appropriate pre-operative assessments. Prepare patients for surgical procedures while maintaining strict aseptic and infection-control practices. Monitor patients throughout the pre-operative period and ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR). Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as ordered and within the scope of practice. Monitor and manage patient pain, anxiety, sedation, and other clinical needs before and after procedures. Collaborate with anesthesia providers and the surgical team to support safe patient care and efficient procedures. Assist with airway management, monitoring, positioning, sterile procedures, and other surgical or anesthesia-related tasks within the individual's scope of practice. Provide post-anesthesia care in the PACU, including monitoring vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, nausea, and potential adverse reactions. Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate physician or anesthesia provider. Provide patients with appropriate post-procedure and discharge instructions. Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile surgical environment in accordance with infection-prevention standards. Ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation and compliance with HIPAA and applicable accreditation standards. Assist with surgical procedures and fertility-related treatments as needed. Work collaboratively with the entire surgical and fertility team to promote a positive patient experience. Preferred Experience Previous experience in an OR, PACU, ambulatory surgery center, fertility center, or other surgical setting . Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile practices, and infection prevention. Experience with fertility and gynecologic procedures such as hysteroscopy, IVF-related procedures, and D&C is highly desirable. Experience with pre-operative and post-anesthesia patient care. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail. Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.

Required / Preferred

Certifications BLS certification required. ACLS certificate required. Specialty certifications such as NRP or TNCC are preferred , but not required. Appropriate nursing or surgical-technician credentials and licensure/certification must be maintained as applicable to the position.
